The Federation of Automobile Workshop Owners' Association of Malaysia (FAWOAM) is an Association registered with the Registrar Of Societies of Malaysia. It was formed in April 1990 when five of its current member State Associations felt that it was necessary to have a single national body to represent and promote the interests of the automobile repairing industry in the country. Since then, FAWOAM has played a significant role in representing and enhancing the position of the automobile repair industry in the country.
FAWOAM is a non-profit making entity. It is financed entirely from members' subscriptions, entrance fees, and surpluses arising from specific activities.
Today, FAWOAM is represented by all the States in Malaysia through the membership of the following State Associations:
Membership of FAWOAM State Association members is drawn from all categories of automobile workshop owners in the country. Started with a combined membership strength of 700 in 1990, FAWOAM through it State Associations, now has over 3,000 members.

Associate Membership of FAWOAM is opened to Companies linked with the automobile repair industries such as parts suppliers, workshop equipment suppliers, oil companies, car manufacturers and similar establishments to allow them to forge business contacts with Automobile Workshop Owners and to keep abreast of the latest development in the automobile repair industry.
